Mel Gull

Mel has been an integral part of General Implement since October of 2004, overseeing the Southern Utah territory, which encompasses regions of Utah, parts of Colorado, New Mexico, and Eastern Nevada. With a diverse range of agricultural production within his territory, Mel finds joy in connecting with dealers and building meaningful relationships with them. Many of his interactions transcend business, evolving into cherished friendships that enrich his professional journey.

Born as the tenth of eleven children in Benjamin, Utah, Mel's upbringing revolved around his father's Honey Bee business, which involved seasonal migrations between Utah and Southern California. He completed his education in the Bloomington and Colton areas of California, graduating from Colton High in 1984. Mel's commitment to his faith led him to serve a two-year mission in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, an experience that left a lasting impact and forged lifelong friendships.

In 1988, Mel embarked on a new chapter of his life as he began dating Laura Tillett, whom he married just eight months later upon their return to Utah. Together, they have raised six children—four girls and two boys—while Laura has dedicated herself to being a loving stay-at-home mom, nurturing their growing family with care and devotion.

Professionally, Mel's journey has been marked by diverse experiences, including route sales with Pepsi Cola and a decade-long tenure with Swain's, a John Deere Dealer, where he worked in sales and parts. In 2004, Mel seized the opportunity to join General Implement, a decision that he views as a tremendous blessing for both himself and his family.

Despite his busy schedule, Mel finds solace and joy in his hobbies, which include traveling with his family to explore the wonders of nature, camping, fishing, hiking, and simply spending quality time together. He also takes pleasure in tending to a small menagerie of animals on his property and finds fulfillment in cultivating his garden, reaping the rewards of his labor with gratitude.
